Russian firm to build 35 bln rbl grain silos along Transsib

VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- Russian company Novy Sukhoputny Zernovoi Koridor (New Land Grain Corridor) plans to invest 35 billion rubles in a network of modern linear grain silos with a combined capacity of 1.4 million tonnes of grain along the Trans-Siberian Railway (Transsib), a company spokesperson told PRIME on Wednesday.

“The agreements were signed (during the Eastern Economic Forum) on construction of the largest linear silos in Russia. In the future, all grain will be exported in the eastern direction,” the spokesperson said.

The company plans to build seven linear silos along the Transsib, with a storage capacity of each silo reaching 200,000 tonnes of grain and the annual grain turnover amounting to 500,000 tonnes. The cost of each silo will stand at 5 billion rubles.

The company alsoplans to consider building a sea terminal for transshipment of grain in the Far East and grain hubs in Kazakhstan.
